Responsibilities
1. Provide technical support, ensuring timely and effective execution of project activities and operational plans as well as efficient, transparent and accountable use of allocated funding.
2. contribute in the coordination and implementation of online and in-person MHPSS training modules on key topics (e.g. counselling, Psychological First Aid), ensuring alignment with technical guidance provided by the MHPSS Officer. Promote partnership, capacity building and strengthening of civil society organizations, including local NGOs, women’s and youth associations, providing training, coaching and networking.
3. Support in the development of MHPSS workplans and support direct MHPSS service provision ensuring MHPSS services are in line with the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Guidelines for MHPSS in emergencies, the IOM Manual on Community-Based MHPSS in Emergencies and Displacement and the IOM Technical Note Integrating MHPSS in Peace ad Recovery Programming.
4. Carry out MHPSS needs assessments, support research, provide suggestions to promote psychosocial support at governorate and district levels, conduct family visits, facilitating group & community discussions in compliance with IOM and IASC guidance on MHPSS.
5. Refer beneficiaries to other service providers as needed.
6. Support the administrative, coordination and project development functions including maintenance of project documentation and information, including the preparation of Arabic and English translations of technical documents.
7. Ensure confidentiality and the right to privacy is maintained with regard to confidential project and beneficiary information.
8. Ensure that hardcopy and electronic information systems are maintained particularly the important notes of all key monitoring, implementation and coordination activities.
9. Monitor achievements in accordance with work plans and report progress to the National Officer to improve support to beneficiaries.
10. Coordinate with field staff to maintain up-to-date and accurate beneficiary data.
11. Ensure effective coordination and collaboration with other IOM teams including protection, durable solutions, social cohesion, health shelter/settlements, legal assistance and HLP and livelihoods to ensure mainstreaming of MHPSS in the aforementioned activities.
12. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the MHPSS National Officer.


Qualifications
• University degree in Psychology, Mental Health, Psychological Counselling, Clinical Psychology from an accredited academic institution, with a minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience in MHPSS programming., or related studies, from an accredited academic university or institute with four years relevant professional.
• Previous participation in IOM corporate training program in ‘Psychosocial Interventions in Emergency and Displacement’; Psychosocial Support and Dialogue will be considered an asset.
