Responsibilities
General Role
The Livelihoods Focal Point is responsible for supporting and strengthening livelihoods strategies and activities within the targeted communities. The role contributes to the effective delivery of livelihoods programs by providing direct support to beneficiaries and promoting economic opportunities that improve the financial stability and resilience of individuals and households.
Work Locations:
Azaz – Safira – Manbij – Aleppo

Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide direct support: Deliver day-to-day assistance to individuals and households requiring support in livelihoods-related areas such as vocational training, entrepreneurship, and access to sustainable employment opportunities.
- Implement livelihoods activities: Design and implement activities and programs aimed at improving the economic conditions of target communities, including skills training, financial support, and rehabilitation of agricultural or small-scale business activities.
- Coordinate with local partners: Work closely with civil society organizations, private sector actors, and relevant government entities to ensure effective coordination and integration of livelihoods programs.
- Conduct assessments: Carry out periodic assessments to monitor the effectiveness of livelihoods interventions, including data collection and analysis related to program impact.
- Provide guidance and support: Offer professional advice and guidance to beneficiaries on improving their livelihoods, such as small business management and employment opportunities.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on livelihoods activities, challenges faced by target communities, and achieved outcomes for submission to management and donors.
- Budget monitoring: Monitor and track program budgets allocated to livelihoods activities to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
- Training and awareness: Organize training sessions, workshops, and awareness initiatives for individuals and communities on sustainable livelihood practices.
- Strategic planning support: Contribute to strategic planning processes related to livelihoods programs and assist in developing future project activities.
- Beneficiary engagement: Maintain regular communication with beneficiaries to ensure their needs are addressed and appropriate support is provided throughout the program cycle.


Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Development Studies, or a related field.
Experience
- Previous experience in livelihoods programming, community coordination, or similar development initiatives.
- Experience in project implementation or community support in comparable contexts such as humanitarian or emergency settings is an asset.
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in dynamic environments.
- Strong analytical skills, including experience in data collection and analysis.
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with communities and partners.
- Good computer literacy, including proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation tools.

Working Conditions

Reporting Line
- The Livelihoods Focal Point reports directly to the Livelihoods Program Manager or Project Manager.
- Responsible for providing regular progress reports on activities and program implementation.
