Responsibilities
1. Responsibilities:
Purpose
To design and deliver participatory, contextually appropriate PTA capacity building trainings that strengthen parent teacher collaboration, promote child protection, inclusion, gender mainstreaming, and safe identification and referral practices among PTA members and teachers.
2. Key responsibilities
• Prepare an interactive 3 day training program aligned with the provided modules and learning objectives.
• Translate technical child protection and PSEA concepts into practical, non technical, culturally sensitive activities for parents and teachers.
• Facilitate training sessions using participatory adult learning methods, visual aids, group work, role play, case studies, and safe referral mapping exercises.
• Coordinate with SIF E&P and DoE focal points on logistical arrangements, participant lists, and venue setup.
• Provide pre training needs assessment (brief), daily session plans, and a final workshop report including participant attendance sheets, pre/post test results (if used), key outcomes, and recommendations.
• Ensure safeguarding and confidentiality throughout; follow SIF/DoE child protection and PSEA policies during training and in reporting.
• Mentor and coach selected local trainers (if requested) to promote sustainability.
3. Deliverables
• Finalized 3day training agenda and session plans (submitted 5 working days before training).
• Training materials and handouts in Arabic (and English if requested) ready for printing; digital copies provided.
• Completed training courses in each assigned school; signed attendance sheets for all participants.
• Short daily facilitator notes and a final report within 5 working days after completion, including lessons learned and recommendations.
• Participant feedback summary and basic evaluation results.
Desirable
• Experience in Daraa Governorate or similar Syrian contexts.
• Trainer certification (ToT) or experience coaching local trainers.
• Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation tools for training (pre/post tests, feedback forms).
4. Logistics, security and support
• SIF will coordinate with PTA and schools to confirm venues, participant lists, and local arrangements.
• SIF will provide stationery, flipcharts, and basic training materials as procurement kits. Trainers should confirm any special material needs in advance.
• Travel and accommodation arrangements will be handled by trainers.
• Trainers must comply with any local security advice and SIF safety protocols while in the field.
• All candidates must adhere to SIF’s Child Protection and PSEA policies. SIF reserves the right to conduct background checks and to reject any candidate who does not meet safeguarding standards.
Qualifications
Essential
• Bachelor’s degree in education, International Development, Social Sciences, Psychology, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience designing and delivering capacity building trainings for parents, teachers, or community groups in humanitarian or development settings.
• Demonstrated experience on child protection, PSEA, inclusion/gender mainstreaming, and safe identification & referral.
• Proven ability to use participatory adult learning methodologies and adapt materials for low literacy audiences.
• Fluency in Arabic (MSA) and strong oral facilitation skills; proficiency in local dialects is an advantage.
• Prior experience working with DoE or similar government education structures is highly desirable.
