Responsibilities
1. Support the planning, coordination and operational implementation of DTM activities, including mobility tracking, surveys, registration, emergency tracking and other data-collection components.
2. Compile, validate, analyse and present DTM data and operational information, ensuring accuracy and highlighting key trends and issues for management and relevant stakeholders.
3. Monitor DTM operational budgets, track expenditures and support the preparation of financial updates; recommend adjustments to ensure effective resource utilization.
4. Serve as a focal point for administrative and operational coordination of DTM field activities, liaising with field teams, other IOM units, authorities and partners to initiate requests, obtain clearances and ensure timely follow-up on operational and administrative requirements.
5. Prepare operational and progress reports, identify gaps or delays in DTM implementation, flag them to supervisors and propose practical corrective measures.
6. Organize and support DTM-related meetings, trainings and capacity-building workshops for field staff, partners and authorities; participate in delivering training sessions and developing training materials.
7. Respond to operational data and information requests from internalstakeholders; maintain organized documentation, datasets and filing systems for DTM operations.
8. Participate in coordination meetings with local authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, donors and other partners, ensuring effective operational liaison and representation of DTM activities.
9. Monitor the performance of implementing partners involved in DTM operations, review data outputs for compliance with DTM standards and reporting requirements, and inform supervisors of any issues.
10. Contribute to the development and revision of DTM Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), methodologies, concept notes and operational tools; provide inputs for the design of new DTM projects and expansions.
11. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to DTM field teams and support staff; coordinate their work and supervise staff when assigned to ensure quality and consistency in data-collection activities.
12. Perform any other duties as required to support effective and timely implementation of DTM operations
Qualifications
Education:
- School diploma with six years of relevant experience; or,
- Bachelor degree in Information Management, Statistics, Social Sciences, International Relations, Disaster Risk Management or related field with at least four years of relevant professional experience from an accredited academic institution.
Experience and Skills:
- Demonstrated experience planning and implementing field data-collection operations in humanitarian or displacement contexts (DTM or comparable systems).
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
- prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
- Strong operational planning, coordination and problem solving skills under time pressure.
- Knowledge of humanitarian information management cycles, sampling approaches and mixed method data collection.
- Proficiency with Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables); familiarity with GIS concepts and mobile data collection platforms.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and relationship building skills; ability to translate operational needs into practical tools and guidance.
- Understanding of and commitment to data protection, AAP, PSEA and safeguarding in operational contexts.
Languages:
- REQUIRED
For this position, fluency in English and Arabic is required (oral and written).
