JOB SUMMARY
The Fleet Maintenance Department Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all activities related to vehicle and equipment maintenance operations, ensuring the availability, reliability, and operational efficiency of the organization’s fleet. The role includes supervising the maintenance garage, managing technical and administrative teams, monitoring maintenance schedules, controlling maintenance processes, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
The position is responsible for effective utilization of fleet resources, maintaining accurate records, coordinating repairs and preventive maintenance activities, and ensuring that all vehicles and equipment remain in safe and efficient operating condition.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage and supervise the Fleet Maintenance Department and garage operations, ensuring effective workflow and service continuity.
• Oversee maintenance, repair, inspection, and servicing activities for vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans and schedules to minimize downtime and extend asset lifespan.
• Supervise maintenance teams, technicians, drivers, and supporting staff, ensuring effective performance and adherence to procedures.
• Monitor vehicle and equipment conditions and ensure timely identification and resolution of technical issues.
• Manage maintenance requests, work orders, repair processes, and service documentation.
• Ensure proper allocation and utilization of vehicles, equipment, tools, and technical resources.
• Coordinate with external workshops, suppliers, and service providers when required.
• Monitor spare parts usage, inventory levels, and maintenance-related procurement requirements.
• Review maintenance costs, analyze operational expenses, and recommend cost optimization measures.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicles, maintenance history, inspections, repairs, and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements and applicable regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure readiness and operational safety.
• Prepare maintenance reports, performance indicators, and periodic updates for management.
• Participate in evaluating vehicle replacement, repair, and refurbishment requirements.
• Contribute to improving maintenance procedures, fleet management practices, and operational efficiency.
