Responsibilities
* Review and analyze tender documents, drawings, technical specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and scopes of work, and accurately quantify the materials and quantities required for projects.
* Prepare comprehensive direct and indirect cost estimates and conduct detailed analysis of BOQ item pricing.
* Coordinate with the Procurement Team, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
* Prepare commercial proposals, pricing summaries, and cash flow projections.
* Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose alternative materials or execution methods without compromising quality.
* Identify discrepancies, missing information, and conflicts within tender documents and prepare Requests for Information (RFIs).
* Provide support during the post-tender stage and ensure the proper handover of approved budgets and cost estimates to the relevant project teams upon project award.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
* 3–7 years of experience in cost estimation or quantity surveying, preferably within construction, contracting, or trading companies.
* Advanced proficiency in MS Excel for developing cost models and conducting cost analysis.
* Experience with quantity takeoff and estimating software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Candy, or CostX.
* Good knowledge of international contracts, particularly FIDIC, as well as local tendering regulations and procedures.
* Good knowledge of construction material prices, logistics costs, and labor costs in local and international markets.
* Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet strict tender submission deadlines.
* Strong communication, negotiation, and coordination skills with suppliers and subcontractors.
