Responsibilities
• Assist Project Management with project coordination, implementation, and site supervision.
• Support the preparation of tender documents, contractor pre-qualification and evaluation processes, and conduct site visits as required.
• Participate in the supervision of construction and rehabilitation works and support the final inspection and project handover.
• Support financial and administrative controls in coordination with the AKCS-S Finance Department, including budget preparation, expenditure planning and control, monthly monitoring of costs and quantities, invoicing, payment processing, and implementation of internal control procedures in accordance with AKCS-S standards.
• Monitor project schedules, costs, quantities, quality, and compliance with contracts, specifications, applicable standards, and AKCS-S procedures. Follow up with contractors on delays, risks, and required corrective measures.
• Review, organize, manage, and maintain project and construction documentation, including contracts, drawings, as-built drawings, change orders, invoices, insurance documents, and other relevant records.
• Participate in site and coordination meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and contribute to the preparation of periodic technical and financial progress reports.
• Support quality control and assurance activities, including the identification, documentation, and follow-up of defects during construction and rehabilitation works.
• Support post-construction activities, including the preparation and review of as-built documentation, warranties, project archiving, and project close-out reports.
• Coordinate, as required, with local authorities, public service providers, contractors, consultants, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain an information system for monitoring project progress and managing reporting requirements. Prepare monthly progress-monitoring schedules, including recovery plans where necessary.
• Conduct urban and social surveys and prepare reports addressing the traditional urban fabric, architectural characteristics, and neighborhood conditions of the Old City of Damascus.
• Report any technical, administrative, financial, contractual, or site-related issues to Project Management and provide timely follow-up on required actions.
• Perform other related duties and tasks assigned by Project Management.


Qualifications
• Architect University Degree in Architecture, with a demonstrated previous experience in same field as this project.
• Knowledge of historical buildings and heritage preservation.
• Experience in site supervision, project coordination, and budgeting.
• Experience/knowledge of the traditional social and urban fabric field is required.
• Deeply oriented Architectural and Conservation expertise. Moreover, Construction Management, Project Management or Engineering knowledges Experience in the performance of the key responsibilities listed would be considered.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of project control principles relating to quality control, budgeting, scheduling, tracking of actual/committed costs, change control and forecasting.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving project requirements.
• Proficiency in Arabic and English, both written and verbal.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Primavera, Microsoft Project, and MS Office.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
