Responsibilities
Conduct initial assessment for and prepare data base for damaged households
•
Conduct technical field assessments for damaged houses and prepare preliminary designs, sketches, and calculations for household’s rehabilitation works.
•
Prepare bills of quantities for assessed households selected for rehabilitation.
•
Monitor daily progress and verify quantities and quality of executed works.
•
Ensure that safety measures and engineering standards are followed on-site.
•
Coordinate material delivery, storage, and usage with contractors and suppliers.
•
Prepare and submit daily and weekly site progress reports.
•
Conduct technical assessments and provide accurate feedback on field challenges.
•
Assist the Project Officer in verifying BoQs, drawings, and material lists.
•
Support the MEAL team and external monitors during field visits and evaluations.
•
Communicate any technical or logistical issues immediately to the Project Officer.
•
Ensure proper documentation and archiving of all site-related reports and photos.
•
Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Project Officer or Line Manager
•
Provide technical feedback on structural or design modifications required during implementation.
•

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
Specific Vacancy Requirements
General Work Experience:
•
Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction or rehabilitation projects, preferably within the humanitarian sector
•
Proven experience in supervising fieldwork, workers, and technical specification in contractors.
•
Experience in shelter and rehabilitation with INGOs or LNGOs is an asset.
Skills
•
Languages:
•
Excellent Arabic (spoken and written)
•
Good English skills.
•
Computing:
•
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and engineering design software such as AutoCAD (required).
•
Strong design and technical drafting skills, capable of preparing and revising engineering drawings, layouts, and as-built plans.
•
Ability to conduct technical assessments and prepare cost estimates.
•
Ability to read, interpret, and implement drawings and technical specifications in line with engineering and humanitarian standards.
•
Strong on-site supervision and quality assurance skills.
•
Ability to prepare daily progress reports, site visit notes, BoQs, and material tracking sheets.
Abilities:

Strong organizational skills to manage field data, reports, and documentation efficiently.
•
Ability to work in the field and support on-site supervision of workers and rehabilitation activities.
•
Flexibility and adaptability to work in challenging environments and meet project deadlines.
