Responsibilities
• Under the supervision of line manager he/she is participating at the planning, management, operations, coordination and regular monitoring of the project to ensure smooth implementation of the activities including development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation as well as strengthening the technical capabilities of the project team members.
• Under the supervision of line manager he/she manages the implementation of shelter projects including the supervision of field staff, field activities and budget monitoring.
• Ensures smooth implementation of the activities and Sphere standards, International Standards, SIF Standards and beneficiaries criteria.
• Establishment of project work plans to ensure on-time delivery of project activities, coordination of the project implementation's review, reporting to donors and internal reporting.
• Active supervision of project staff with frequent visits to the field.
• Carry out a technical assessment to establish the specific aspects of repair and rehabilitation systems in target locations, according with the beneficiaries' criteria, donor's criteria and international humanitarian standards.
• Provide technical support to shelter team staff though organizing training and building their capacities.
• Establish and agree on key performance indicators, monitor ongoing performance, and improve performance against set goals.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure the non-disclosure of any information whatsoever relating to the practices and business of SIF, acquired in the course of duty, to any other person or organization without authority, except in the normal execution of duty.
• Perform other duties as required.


Qualifications
• BSc in Civil Engineering, Architecture or any related Engineering field.
• Minimum 3 years shelter experience including at least 2 years management experience
• Thorough technical knowledge of shelter rehabilitation/upgrade and protection mainstream
• Solid experience with household level water supply and sanitation
• Capacity building experience, including identification of training needs and training experience
• Proven ability in report writing, research and documentation
• Experience in project cycle management.
• Experience of collaboratively working with local authorities, partners, NGOs
• Thorough understanding of budgetary, HR and procurement processes
• Clear understanding of the sector/cluster/UNG/INGO/NGO system
