Responsibilities
1. Responsible for transforming the IT department in to a state-of-the-art Digital Network team by re-defining the IT strategy and launching e-channels, e-wallets, e-payments and other digital platforms.
2. Responsible for running the day-to-day operation of the all system infrastructure, Telecom networks, applications, security to serve the Institution users and clients.
3. Responsible for implementation of a successful Information and Communication Technology (ICT) system for the Institution and lead the team. Maintain a sound integrated IT infrastructure, which includes software, hardware, network and communication systems for the Institution in accordance to the industry standards.
4. Coordinate with vendors/consultants responsible for software development of the Institution; ensuring that meets requirements of the Institution.
5. Maintain and develop IT policies and procedures including IT security and disaster management policy.
6. Maintain, monitor and develop reliable backup and disaster recovery procedure.
7. Validate software and data management systems for data accuracy, security and reliability.
8. Oversee Help-desk for rectification and recommending solutions for day-to-day IT related problems.
9. Plan and oversee deployment of IT infrastructure and system installations for all Institution branches/offices.
10. Technical Management responsibilities include, oversee:
a. Software and hardware inventory and tracking systems.
b. Identification of the vendor and monitor the inventory requirements. Facilitate purchase of IT related equipment as per the expense guidelines.
c. Functioning of IT systems of the Institution and verify the periodic performance evaluation of the systems.
d. Maintenance and up-gradation of software applications and hardware as per license agreements and Institution’s requirements.
11. Prepare IT budgets both for annual and special projects, and recommend controls for expenditures.
12. Develops short-and long-range plans and prepare schedules and IT resource requirements and cost estimates.
13. Supervise, communicate with, motivate and lead an IT team to run the day-to-day IT operations of the Institution.
14. Assist in hiring, training, reviewing and developing of IT staff for the Institution. Evaluate, guide and recognize the direct reports.


Qualifications
• University degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or any related study. Masters degree is a plus.
• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in IT or relevant field of which a minimum of 3 years must be of an IT Management role
• Preferably to have worked in the areas of e-payment, e-transfers, mobile money, internet banking, mobile banking etc.
• Leadership Skills including crisis management, decision making, problem solving, people management and strategic thinking.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English.
