Main responsibilities:
(Mention the responsibilities detailed in the job description)
1- Transports for staff and Goods/Equipment:
• He is responsible for the safe transportation of PUI staff and goods / equipment in accordance with PUI fleet management policy;
• He is responsible to receive the movement authorization and other relevant information from the Safety and IT manager and the Head of drivers prior any movement.
• He is responsible for proper driving while using PUI vehicles, following PUI’s and Syrian driving rules and regulations.
• He adheres to PUI’s fleet management policies and procedures;
• He ensures all relevant documentation in accordance to the Syrian law are included inside the vehicles (i.e. Insurance policy, Driver’s licence, ownership of the vehicles, etc.);
• He ensures to perform the necessarily daily check-up of the assigned vehicle at the beginning of the shift;
• He ensures the proper and safe parking of the vehicle assigned, during the breaks and at the moment of ending the shift (night-time);
• He ensures to have the logbook completed after each movement,
• He ensures to have any waiver used, duly signed as per PUI’s Fleet manual requirement;
• He ensures all emergency tools and spare tyres; first aid kits are inside the car assigned and in good stand before starting their shift;
2- Ensures Maintenance of Vehicles:
• He performs daily check of the vehicle assigned (i.e. oil level, water level, bodywork, etc.),
• In case of any emergency, He is responsible to inform the Head of Drivers of any mechanical problem with the vehicle assigned;
• He is responsible for the proper consumption of the fuel in the vehicle assigned;
• He coordinates with the Head of Drivers for the regular maintenance of the assigned vehicle, and ensures the assigned vehicle is kept clean and in good running condition at all times;
• He is responsible to inform immediately the Head of Drivers in case of any road accident involving the organization’s vehicle, and ensures that the necessary steps are followed, based on PUI rules and regulations.

- Valid Syrian driving license.
- Minimum 2 years work experience as a driver.
- Knowledge of driving rules and regulations;
- Very good knowledge in Aleppo and Rural Aleppo areas.
- Advanced Mechanical skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Good level of spoken English.
- Experience with INGO's or UN Agencies is an added value.

The current operational strategy for Premiere Urgence Internationale (PUI) in Syria is to alleviate the human suffering of the Syrian people in Syria by delivering sound, needs-based humanitarian assistance, while promoting a life-sustaining response. PUI's positioning on, shelter, education, livelihoods, and WaSH sectors remain a priority.
Based on ten years of experience conducting humanitarian operations in Syria, supporting Iraqi refugees and lately Syrians affected by the crisis, PUI has played an important role in responding to the needs of the population within nine governorates (Aleppo, Damascus, Rural Damascus, Homs, Hama, Tartous, Lattakia & Dera’a ) and through the following interventions:
- Rehabilitation of collective and private shelters,
- Rehabilitation of infrastructure
- Emergency and Early Recovery WASH interventions
