Responsibilities
•Lead all livelihoods activities implemented by COOPI in Nashabye, Eastern Ghouta and ensure they are in line with national policies as well as overall humanitarian response in Syria.
•Support the procurement of the kits, including preparing specifications, supporting technical evaluation of offers and follow the contracting and delivery process.
•Ensure the involvement of the communities in the implementation of the livelihood activities, including supporting relationship with the local SARC branches and local authorities.
•Conduct training and capacity building of the beneficiaries participating in the livelihood intervention, preparing materials and conducting the sessions in the field.
•Take the lead and liaise with the M&E Manager to prepare the post-distribution and post-harvest monitoring.
•Conduct field visits and provide information on the status of project activities, analyse the situation of the communities and advise of communities’ needs.
•Support the identification of potential bottlenecks in project implementation and propose solutions to the Project Manager.
•Support the field staff by providing capacity building and instruction for the implementation of MEAL activities and distributions.
•Provide technical expertise in the implementation of the project and the design of future projects.
•Support the identification of livelihood needs of new communities and act as a technical focal point for field visits.
•Ensure that activities are conducted in compliance with COOPI’s Code of Conduct and the humanitarian principles.
•Maintain confidentiality and ensure the non-disclosure of any information acquired in the course of duty, to any other person or organization without approval.
•Perform other duties as required.


Qualifications
•University-level education in a relevant area of studies (Bachelor degree or Master degree);
•Experience working with international non-governmental organizations or UN agencies in Syria, in the field of livelihoods and small-scale agriculture;
•Experience in the provision of technical capacity building for the beneficiaries;
•Knowledge of the humanitarian system;
•Good writing skills in English and Arabic.

Specific Vacancy Requirements
•Willingness to conduct daily field visits in Rural Damascus
•Experience in the field of agriculture in the project areas is preferable.
