Responsibilities
The deputy logistics coordinator has the main role of supporting the Logistics Coordinator with the overall smooth functioning of logistics team on the mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
1- Forecasting & planning
• He / She supports the Logistics coordinator with the forecasting and planning of all budgets related to logistics (i.e. Fleet, facilities, complex contracts, rentals, equipment and furniture, etc.)
• He / She supports the logistics coordinator with the planning of the logistics strategy related to: team’s workload, capacity building, etc.
2- General logistics
• He / She supports the Logistics coordinator with the day to day logistics activities including:
o Procurement
o Transportation
o Warehousing
o Archiving
3- Special projects
• He / She is in charge of the completion of complex projects assigned by the logistics coordinator (i.e. Revision of various logistics policies for PUI Syria mission, preparation and dissemination of SOP’s to the field, etc.)
4- Internal and External meetings
By Delegation of the logistics Coordinator, the deputy Log Coordinator will:
• Represent PUI mission in Syria in all related logistics matters;
5-Internal and external reporting
• He / She supports the Logistics Coordinator with the gathering and compilation of information related to logistics for reporting, preparation of KPI’s;
• He / She supports the finance department with requests related but not limited to:
o Samples of purchase files for audits (internal and / or external);
• He / She supports the logistics coordinator with the financial / narrative writing of mid-term reports for donors and / or HQ and any other internal report required from the logistics department.
6- Acting role
• The deputy Logistics coordinator will act as logistics coordinator for PUI Syria mission when required by the mission, taking on the full responsibility of the logistics team and signing all relevant procurement documents on behalf on the logistics coordinator for the time assigned to him / her.

Qualifications
Education:
• Professional qualification in logistics or equivalent
• Certification or training in Management (Preferred)
Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in humanitarian logistic operations
• At least 2 years of experience in management
• Experience in forecasting, budgeting and planning (Preferred)
Technical Skills:
• Excellent knowledge of general logistics procedures including but not limited to: Complex procurement, negotiation,transportation, warehousing, budgeting
• Management of staff including : work scheduling, performance review, couching strategies
• Capacity to provide training in general logistics (Preferred)
Languages
• Fluently spoken and written English
• Professional qualification in logistics or equivalent
• Certification or training in Management (Preferred)
Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in humanitarian logistic operations
• At least 2 years of experience in management
• Experience in forecasting, budgeting and planning (Preferred)
