Responsibilities
NRC is looking to identify suitable candidates for supporting its Education Programme and who have expertise in minimum one of the following fields:

Life-Skills Trainer/Activity Facilitator:
• Contribute to the implementation of NRC’s Education Programme by conducting field workshops / training activities to the targeted groups (children or youth) in the selected areas / locations.
• Participate in the preparation of the required equipment and materials for workshops and ensure their readiness.
• Participate in organizing the location, invite and encourage individuals to participate, and classifying the participants (children or youth) before starting the workshop.
• Provide feedback to the direct line of authority after each assignment and prepare reports as requested.
• Support the identification and understanding of education, training, and PSS needs in current or new operation areas.
• Attend and participate in required NRC-facilitated training, update / reporting meetings.
• Contribute to the registration of participants’ data and counting the total number of participants.
• Maintain a strong relationship with the participants and foster them to participate in the coming events by creating a friendly and welcoming learning space for participants.
• Participate in scanning and archiving all Education documents as needed.
• Promote and share ideas for technical improvement.
Note: This is a temporary, field based, and part-time position, at times with short-notice assignments.


Qualifications
1. High School Diploma is required; Bachelor/ License Degree is preferred.
2. Previous experience of working in facilitating educational, Psychosocial Support, recreational activities/trainings with children/youth outside schools or teaching in schools.
3. Previous experience in facilitating life skills training for Children/Youth
4. Experience of working in a humanitarian/recovery context or equivalent is a plus.

NRC is a non-governmental, non-profit, humanitarian, independent organisation. It provides assistance to people affected by crises & i.e. refugees, internally displaced people, host communities etc. - to meet their immediate humanitarian needs, prevent further displacement and contribute to durable solutions.
NRC was established in 1946 under the name Aid to Europe, to assist refugees in Europe after World War II. After almost 70 years of interventions all over the world, today NRC is organised as an independent and private foundation that cooperates closely with the UN and other humanitarian organisations, around the world as well as in Norway. Moreover, extensive expertise has been gained by the organization over the years also on Collective Shelters Coordination and Management.
In addition, NRC provides expertise as a strategic partner to the UN as well as to national and international actors including governments and line ministries- through its stand-by rosters. Only in 2014 almost 600 humanitarian experts were deployed to 49 countries, making NRCs rosters the most used expert deployment capacity in the humanitarian world.
Finally, NRC promotes and sustains efforts at different levels to keep high the attention on the condition and situation of displaced and vulnerable people affected by ongoing crisis.
