Responsibilities
Assessment and Activities Design
• In collaboration with MEAL, Gender, and project team, design need assessments and baseline studies in order to identify WASH-related health risks and priorities.
• Collect, record and interpret qualitative and quantitative data
• Use assessment data to design participatory public health promotion interventions appropriate for the local context and culture with involvement of all groups of community.
• Access and analyse resources and capacities of Oxfam contractors/stakeholders that could be useful for visual and other Public health promotion activities acceptable to all stakeholders.
Project planning and reporting:
• Assist the project manager in developing work plans and program activities.
• Contribute to weekly project team review and planning meetings and ensure that PHP is well presented in those meetings
• In coordination with MEAL department, conduct regular quality implementation review and contribute to the PHP learning review .
• In coordination with the project team and with support of project manager, contribute to the design and development of WASH activities according to the local context.
• Participate and help to sustain planned engagements WASH stakeholders on the role of PHP as humanitarian support.
• Provide regular project’s update and project reports to the project manager as per the agreed timeline.
Project Implementation:
• Implement PHP activities in WASH emergencies e.g. baseline data collection, designing implementation of IEC campaigns through popular Media, identification, selection and capacity building of community based hygiene volunteers, working with logistics team on targeting, delivery and monitoring of NFI distributions, design, implementation and monitoring public health promotion activities at community level with innovative ideas context relevant.
• Implement interventions for specific target groups, e.g. women, men, children, youth groups, religious leaders and community leaders in coordination with gender.
• Provide support and capacity in the development of behaviour change communication strategy and guide the development and production of Media activities acceptable to all stakeholders.
• Closely work and support the work of local and National institutions, such as Schools, water boards, councils and Municipalities ensuring appropriate WASH/PHP activities are implemented
• Implement Post distribution monitoring according to agreed sampling frame and best approach applicable to context
• Supervise others to monitor and report against key WASH related diseases.
Logistics and Finance
• Work with logistics to ensure timely procurement and distribution of NFIs with support of project manager
• Work closely with Finance and project manager in monitoring PHP budget expenditures levels.

Qualifications
• Knowledge of one or more of the following: public health, health or hygiene promotion, community development, education, community mobilization. Academic or professional qualifications are essential.
• Good knowledge of Aleppo northern rural (area and context).
• Design, communication and presentation skills.
• Good organisational awareness.
• Effective member of team and role model; demonstrates creativity in seeking better ways to do things and shares with team, and promotes high standards.
• Takes responsibility for own work and delegated project/processes (including some leadership).
• Anticipates problems and regularly provides solutions.
• Successfully manages conflicting priorities.
• Understanding of humanitarian issues and practise in a particular specialism.
• Demonstrates developed communications skills.
• Good written and spoken Arabic and English is essential.
• Excellent knowledge of area of work and increasingly contribute to team planning.
• Proactively assumes more responsibility and/or more difficult areas of work in agreement with manager.
• Contributes to development of new project initiatives.
Any other duties as agreed with project manager and area manager.
