Responsibilities
• Organises workshops and network meetings for partners and ensure timely and effective arrangements, prepare minutes and its distribution.
• Organises Oxfam’s gender debates with partners and other stakeholder; documents program experience and wider gender debates.
• Drafts correspondence to partners and maintains a good filing system for gender activities records.
• Provides efficient administrative support to Oxfam gender team.
• Facilitate participation and regular meeting of FC members in Coordination bodies to represent women, young people needs and ideas; take meeting minutes and prepare draft for finalization.
• Facilitate and review project plans, financial and logistical documentation to ensure compliance to established Oxfam financial; review financial reports, Payment and liquidation requests. Serves as a liaison with Oxfam’s support teams i.e. Logistics and Finance.
• Assists in costing and budgeting of activities including meetings, trainings and workshops.
• Prepare monthly reports on the financial status of gender projects;
• Reports on daily and monthly basis.


Qualifications
• University/College qualification in the relevant field (e.g. social sciences or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
• An understanding experience of working in the humanitarian sector.
• An understanding and sensitivity to poverty, gender and diversity issues.
• Good reporting and writing skills.
• Demonstrated capacity of social and communication skills and ability to work with others and as part of the team.
• Good grasp of English in written and oral communication.
• Willingness and eager to learn about organizational procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others.
• Commitment to a rights-based approach, gender equality and protection.
• Ability to work in multi-cultural team.
• Willingness to work in insecure environments and a high level of adaptability and initiative.
• Positive attitude and willingness to work in insecure environments and a high level of adaptability and initiative.
• Advanced knowledge and skills in computer usage, particularly MS. Office.

While Oxfam has been present in the region since 1970, it began operating in Syria through its Damascus based presence in July 2013. Interventions implemented under Oxfam's WASH Programme include: Provision of Acute Emergency Life-Saving WASH Services, Rehabilitation of Water Systems, Hygiene Promotion and Water Conservation, Capacity Building and Training, and Improved Emergency WASH Coordination. To date, Oxfam has been worked in 10 governorates, seeking out to over 2.5 million beneficiaries.
