Responsibilities
Project design and planning
• Participate in needs assessment when needed, participate in developing and adopting assessment methodology, tools, respondent’s selection, and supervise field team to ensure field level data integrity.
• Participate in drafting new project proposals for new WASH projects and activities including work plan, log frame of activities, budget, BoQs, indicators and targets.

Data quality management
• Conduct periodic data quality audits to assess the quality of collected data for indicators.
• Support team to use different qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection including structured/ semi structured interviews, key informant interviews, in-depth interviews, group discussions, focus group discussions and observatory walks as WASH tools.
• Participate in designing simple questionnaires for baseline and end-line surveys based on identified hygiene related topic.
• Support WASH team in development of databases by using available HPIS and technologies
• Work on data analysis using appropriate technologies, tools, tables and charts, and propose strategies for program development/implementation.

Evaluation design
• Apply the fundamental principles of evaluation (concepts, purposes and types of evaluations, contribution versus attribution, and counterfactual).
• Compile data related to projects’ challenges, lessons learnt, and include them in the related reports.

Reporting and presenting information
• Support reporting by drafting, compiling and editing inputs from WASH program team and SARC team, while ensuring quality, coherence and accuracy of the presented numerical and narrative data.
• Work closely with MEAL department in identifying gaps in reporting information and seek clarification from counterparts.
• Develop program projects’ reports including needs assessments, baseline studies, impact study, beneficiaries’ satisfaction and feedback, periodic studies, monitoring and evaluation, and help sharing findings with all stakeholders.
• Work closely with WASH team members and develop program’s reports in a timely manner—including weekly SITREP, monthly/quarterly reports and donors’ reports as required for all WASH program activities.
• Participate in collecting and editing success stories for donor reports.
• Other tasks as required.

Qualifications
• Bachelor degree in Social Work/Social Sciences or equivalent
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in English (mainly in writing)
• Minimum of 2 years of applied experience with a humanitarian organization and or working with refugees/IDPs in humanitarian settings.

• Demonstrate an understanding of social dynamics and ensure data collected is representative of populations.
• Understand the fundamental principles of evaluation (concepts, purposes, and types of evaluations, contribution versus attribution, and counterfactual).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to analyze data.

Preferable:
• Possess the skills to use PowerPoint to share results of data analysis and monitoring.
• Innovative and solutions-oriented.
• Have the analytical, conceptual, and strategic thinking skills.
• Manage performance by setting clear goals.

* Ready to travel to locations in different governorates such as Deir-Ez-Zor, Hama and Hasake
