Responsibilities
Location: Aleppo and Lattakia Governorates (with remote coordination as needed)
Project Context: The project aims to support inclusive and participatory planning for the rehabilitation of schools in earthquake-affected areas of Syria. It focuses on improving access to quality education through community engagement, participatory dialogue, and locally driven planning processes. Special attention is given to the involvement of marginalized and underrepresented groups.
Role Overview: The Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of participatory planning processes for school rehabilitation. This includes managing a team of facilitators, coordinating with education authorities and community stakeholders, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality outputs within the short-term assignment.
Deliverables:
Community engagement strategy and methodology.
Oversight of consultation sessions and participatory planning workshops.
Quality assurance of school profiles and workshop reports.
Contributions to a manual on participatory planning for school rehabilitation.
Qualifications
Education: Master’s or diploma degree in Education, Pedagogy, or a related field.
Languages: Proficiency in English and Arabic (C1 level).
Experience: Minimum 8 years in the education sector, VT, Quality Education, Teaching (specifically with NGOs, INGOs, UN agencies).
At least 5 years of managing projects focused on community engagement and participatory dialogue.
5 years of leadership experience in project management.
3 years of experience in NGOs, CSOs, UN, development or humanitarian cooperation.
Skills: Strong background in participatory approaches, conflict sensitivity, and inclusive facilitation.

Specific Vacancy Requirements
Key Responsibilities: Lead and coordinate advisory services related to participatory school rehabilitation planning.
Ensure timely and cost-effective achievement of project outputs.
Manage communication with education authorities, school stakeholders, and community representatives.
Supervise and mentor a pool of short-term facilitators, providing guidance on participatory methods and inclusive practices.
Ensure harmonized use of facilitation tools across all schools.
Review and ensure quality control of reports and documentation.
Conduct debriefing and reflection sessions to capture lessons learned and adapt methodologies.
Submit regular progress reports and contribute to final project documentation.
