- Advanced University/College qualification in the relevant field (e.g., Gender or development studies,
social science, or other disciplines) or equivalent experience
- Three years minimum experience in Gender, GBV, protection and social work.
- Experience working with IDPs, and other vulnerable populations is desirable.
- Ability to communicate in English, write reports in English and consolidate the reports into formal
English documentation, including translation of documents into either Arabic or English
- Experience and understanding and experience of working in the humanitarian or development sector
with at least 2 years working with an international organization (such as INGOs, UN agencies or the
like).
- Prior experience or familiarity with Oxfam and/or persons of concern (including internally displaced
persons and refugees-returnees) would be a distinct advantage.
- Experience in Training local actors in the region on gender equality, and GBV prevention
- An understanding and sensitivity to poverty, gender, intersectionality and diversity issues
- Demonstrated capacity for social and communication skills and ability to work with others in a team.
- Willingness and eagerness to learn about organizational and operational procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others.
- Commitment to a rights-based approach, gender equality and protection
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural team.
- Willingness to work in insecure environments and a high level of adaptability and initiative.
- Willingness and fitness to travel and stay in the field for sustained periods of time.
- Knowledge and skills in computer usage
