Responsibilities
General Finance Support:
- Support the Finance Manager and the finance team in day-to-day financial processes.
- Participate in internal finance meetings and ensure smooth communication within the unit.
- Coordinate with procurement, logistics, HR, and program teams on financial matters.
- Support implementation and follow-up of the Finance Department Action Plan.
- Provide input to improve financial tools, processes, and documentation.
- Assist in gathering financial inputs for donor and internal reports.
- Work closely with departments to ensure timely and accurate financial support to operations.
Accounting & Documentation:
- Support monthly accounting closure, including voucher checks, coding, documentation verification, and reconciliation preparation.
- Ensure proper filing, security, and organization of all financial documentation.
- Conduct regular spot checks on vouchers and supporting documents as assigned.
Payments, Cash and Bank Management:
- Process daily cash payments in line with Tdh financial procedures and donor requirements.
- Maintain an updated cashbook and ensure all cash transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
- Coordinate with the bank on transfers, confirmations, payment execution, and issue resolution.
- Monitor incoming and outgoing bank transactions and update the bankbook accordingly.
Budget Follow-Up:
- Support the tracking of budget consumption (BFU) and prepare initial analyses for Finance Manager review.
- Collaborate with the program team to regularly update forecasts and ensure progress stays aligned with targets.
- Monitor reporting deadlines and prepare initial drafts to ensure timely submissions.
Compliance, Audit and Internal Control:
- Ensure financial documents comply with Tdh procedures, donor rules, and Syrian legislation.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing and organizing documentation and responding to queries.
- Assist in implementing audit recommendations and corrective actions.
- Follow Tdh administrative, financial, and internal control procedures rigorously.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree at least, preferable Economics or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the finance manager position.
- Proven experience in development and humanitarian and/or conflict affected countries settings.
- Prior experience working in emergency settings or insecure environments.
- Effective in representation and liaison with external parties.
- Proven ability to work as part of a team.
- Demonstrated experience in capacity building and mentoring of national staff.
Languages:
Full professional proficiency in English and Arabic is mandatory.
IT know-how:
Very good IT skills including MS office, Outlook, Sharepoint.
