Responsibilities

1. Contribute to coordinating the roll out of community engagement and resilience building activities, applying community based standards and procedures.
2. Map community assets & community networks/Community-Based Organizations/ & Civil Society Organizations including the management and mobilization of human assets identified.
3. Support community participatory feedback mechanisms and accountability to affected populations, during project planning, implementation, and closure.
4. Support the National Officer in the application of community- based standards, operational procedures, and practices at the field level.
5. Support coordination with government counterparts at local levels, partners, and technical leads to develop and implement integrated strategies that address key priorities.
6. Provide field-based reporting related to community engagement activities.
7. Support the National Officer in the establishment of platforms aimed at strengthening dialogue between youth and relevant governmental stakeholders and local officials.
8. Assist in collecting, analysing and use data and feedback to identify opportunities to improve the relationship with local authorities and other relevant partners.
9. Keep all IOM informed about the context analysis and developments. Inform IOM on location selection and other approaches to ensure that assistance is delivered equitably across ethno-religious groups represented in the location, in line with needs assessments.
10. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.


Qualifications

• Relevant experience in social projects/community stabilization through a gender points of view and experience with an international organization is an advantage.
• Experience in interventions aimed at supporting return, relocation and post-conflict recovery.
• Experience in liaising and building effective partnerships with communities, authorities, other national and international counterparts, including UN agencies, national and international NGOs, coordination fora.
• Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, young people (children and adolescents) and other vulnerable groups.
• Willingness to conduct constant travel within the Area of Responsibility.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong experience in implementing activities related to community inclusive interventions.
• In depth knowledge of displacement and durable solutions frameworks, and of national and international legislation and policies related to internal displacement.
• Good skills in planning, organizing, and executing training.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Ability to work in a team and good interpersonal skills.



Specific Vacancy Requirements
Education:

• University degree in Political or Social Science, Development Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related studies, from an accredited academic university or institute with three years relevant professional experience; or
• High School Diploma with five years relevant professional experience.
