About us
The International committee of Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We take actions in response of emergencies and at the same time promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We are presents in Syria since 1967, we work closely with and supports the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) to meet food, water, and health needs of people affected by the fighting in both emergencies and to help them start rebuilding their lives.
