Responsibilities
A. Field Implementation & Supervision
• Support the daily implementation of debris removal activities, including manual clearance, sorting, loading, and temporary storage.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor work progress, workforce attendance, and compliance with work plans.
• Ensure debris removal activities follow basic safety, environmental, and community protection measures.
• Assist in identifying operational constraints (access issues, community concerns, coordination gaps) and report them promptly.
B. Coordination & Community Engagement
• Coordinate on a daily basis with:
o Local municipalities and service units
o Community representatives and workers
o Implementing partners and contractors (if applicable)
• Support community participation in site selection, prioritization, and sequencing of debris clearance activities.
• Facilitate communication between local stakeholders and UNDP field teams.
C. Monitoring & Reporting
• Maintain basic daily records of activities (locations, workforce numbers, volumes cleared where applicable).
• Contribute to weekly and monthly progress reports using UNDP templates.
• Document field observations, challenges, and lessons learned from implementation.
D. Administrative & Operational Support
• Support verification of attendance sheets and basic workforce documentation.
• Assist in coordination related to tools, equipment, and basic materials at site level.
• Perform other related field tasks as requested by the supervisor within the scope of the assignment.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
a. Education
• Technical institute certificate, vocational training, or secondary education. With a background in construction, public works, environmental services, or similar fields is an asset
b. Experience
• Minimum 3 years of practical field experience.
• Experience in debris removal, solid waste, public works, construction, or labor-intensive projects is highly desirable.
• Prior experience working with municipalities, community projects, NGOs, or humanitarian programmes is an asset.
Language Requirements
• Excellent English drafting skills
• Arabic and English mandatory.
Core Competencies
• Ability to work effectively in field and community-based environments
• Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and teamwork
• Ability to follow instructions and operational procedures
• Basic reporting and documentation skills
• Positive attitude under pressure and in challenging environments
Other Preferable:
• Willingness to work in multiple locations within Rural Damascus
• Ability to work outdoors and in physically demanding environments
• Basic computer skills (mobile reporting, simple forms) are an asset
