Responsibilities
Job Summary
Responsible for planning, directing, and leading the comprehensive risk management strategy across the Institution. This includes identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational, credit, and market risks to safeguard assets and ensure the sustainability of development projects in alignment with sovereign directives.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Credit Risk Management:
• Develop policies and standards for granting credit or financing to projects and beneficiary entities.
• Analyze the creditworthiness of borrowers or strategic partners and evaluate default probabilities.
• Monitor credit concentration limits to ensure risk diversification across various developmental sectors.
2. Market Risk Management:
• Assess the impact of fluctuations in exchange rates, interest rates, and inflation on the Institution’s portfolio and project bank.
• Develop scenarios and stress tests to address macroeconomic changes within the Syrian environment.
• Monitor liquidity and ensure the Institution’s ability to meet financial obligations toward projects and donors.
3. Operational Risk Management:
• Identify risks arising from internal process failures, systems (such as Odoo), or human error.
• Establish Business Continuity and disaster recovery plans.
• Develop and periodically update the comprehensive Risk Register.
4. Periodic Reporting:
• Submit periodic analytical reports to senior management regarding Risk Appetite and financial exposure levels.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience
• Education: University degree in Economics (Finance, Accounting, or Management); a Master’s degree in Risk Management is preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of five years of practical experience in the banking sector or financing agencies. Prior experience with non-profit organizations and institutions is preferred.
• English Language: Very Good level (Speaking, Writing, and Comprehension).
