Responsibilities
• Development and implementation of the NRC Safety and Risk Management System at national level
• Conduct Security Risk Analysis (SRA) according to minimum operational requirements (MOSS)
• Minimize risks to the operations of NRC
• Management of risk and operation staff as appropriate
• Support, training, control and development of staff in all offices
• Prepare reports as required
• Communicate and cooperate with relevant external actors
• Train and develop staff in safety and security
• Compliance and adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures
Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of experience from working as a senior Security or Risk Advisor in a humanitarian/recovery context or in a hostile environment
• Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
• Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
• Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
• Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and verbal
• Valid driver’s license

About us
NRC is in Syria to support people affected by forced displacement (IDPs, returnees, host community etc.) so that they can have access to timely and effective assistance, to cope with the crisis and when the crisis ends return and rebuild their lives. Since the start of its activities in mid-2016 in Syria, NRC has reached with humanitarian assistance more than 360,000 people, out of which more than 150,000 reached in 2018 alone in the of Damascus, Aleppo and Rif Damascus.
NRC will continue to apply an integrated programming approach, where Education, capacity building, Shelter/WASH, and Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) programmes work jointly to enable displacement-affected populations to meet their basic needs, enjoy their rights, and benefit from pathways to durable solutions.
