Responsibilities
1. Coordination:
• Attend the UN-led or Government of Syria – led coordination meetings for WASH, SHELTER/NFI, Food Security sub sectors Al Hasakeh and represent Oxfam through prior coordination with the Oxfam office in Damascus;
• Holding regular meetings with local NGOs implementing projects jointly with Oxfam to coordinate interventions, planning and monitoring;
• Coordinate with Local Water Establishment and other GoS institution related to the implementation of Oxfam projects in the Governorate, as per Oxfam Damascus office’s guidance;
• Coordinate with Oxfam’s contractors implementing WASH activities;
• Liaise with Oxfam Humanitarian Coordinator to coordinate activities and share updates;
• Liaise with Oxfam Damascus support departments and Technical Advisors for support;

2. Context monitoring and security management
• Monitoring the context and share information with Oxfam Safety and Security Coordinator as well as the HPC;
• Report any safety and security incident within 24h to Oxfam Safety and Security Coordinator as well as the HPC;
• Provide inputs to the local safety and security standard operating procedures with the support of the Oxfam Safety and Security Coordinator as well as the HPC;

3. Activities monitoring
• Ensure monitoring of project activities with Oxfam Damascus office for both local partners’ implemented activities and Oxfam’s directly implemented activities

4. Reporting
• Provide daily update on the phone / Skype on activities progress, challenges and support needed to the HPC;
• Provide a weekly situation report (in writing);
• Draft monthly and weekly workplans for all activities;


Qualifications
• Very good language skills (Arabic and English) both written and spoken
• Work experience with similar NGO in a role entailing coordination duties and direct implementation or support to a WASH programme
• Willing to uphold to Oxfam humanitarian mandate, principles and code of conduct
• Positive attitude and able to work under pressure

Interventions implemented under Oxfam's WASH Programme include: Provision of Acute Emergency Life-Saving WASH Services, Rehabilitation of Water Systems, Hygiene Promotion and Water Conservation, Capacity Building and Training, and Improved Emergency WASH Coordination. To date, Oxfam has been worked in 10 governorates, seeking out to over 2.5 million beneficiaries.
