1. Conduct regular situation monitoring in specific areas based on requests by supervisor, to assess the overall humanitarian situation and document the needs of women, adolescents and children (affected populations).
2. Conduct regular visits to monitor programme activities supported by Organization, with a focus on:
a) Assessing gender sensitivity in programme implementation by Partners through Cooperation Agreements as well as programme implementation by government ministries and agencies according to the Organization Syria Country Office Strategic Annual Work Plans;
b) Conducting post-distribution monitoring (PDM) of supplies to assess beneficiaries' feedback in terms of the quality, timeliness and relevance of supplies delivered. Another end-user monitoring of specific programmes will be conducted as required by supervisor.
c) Verifying supplies are delivered to target beneficiaries in line with relevant programme documents, and documenting any delays and bottlenecks;
The number of programme monitoring visits to be conducted are specified in the agreement Documents agreed with Partners.
3. Validate results data provided by implementing partners in their progress reports. Report any actual or potential deviation from implementation plans.
4. Extend required support for planning and implementation of programme projects to ensure gender minimum standards are considered.
5. Within 5 days following each monitoring visit the monitor will produce a trip report according to the standard format provided by Organization and will submit the report to the designated direct and matrix supervisors for further dissemination and action by the relevant persons.
6. Perform any other gender relevant duties requested accordingly.

*Required experience: at least 3 years’ experience in field work, Gender and GBV training.
*Required Academic background: University degree (Faculty of law or/and social science are preferable or any similar academic specialisation).
*Good command of both Arabic and English

*Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to analyze diverse and complex information from a wide range of sources to make analytical statements to inform decision-making.
*Certified training is a plus

*Strong communication and networking skills, including the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams as well as establishing and maintaining close working relationships with a variety of implementing partners and counterparts at different levels.
*Good computer skills, including experience with various software applications.
*Certified training is a plus

While Oxfam has been present in the region since 1970, it began operating in Syria through its Damascus based presence in July 2013. Since then, Oxfam has been responding to both the urgent WASH needs for vulnerable people, and has been working on the rehabilitation of water systems in order to provide durable, more sustainable solutions to the affected populations. Interventions implemented under Oxfam's WASH Programme include: Provision of Acute Emergency Life-Saving WASH Services, Rehabilitation of Water Systems, Hygiene Promotion and Water Conservation, Capacity Building and Training, and Improved Emergency WASH Coordination. To date, Oxfam has been worked in 10 governorates, seeking out to over 2.5 million beneficiaries.
