Site Engineer /PHC rehabilitation

• Attend briefing at Medair Office – Damascus and read all relevant documents in advance of Kick-off meeting on-site
• Attend the site every day that contractors are working there on Medair engineering contracts, spending sufficient time to monitor all aspects of the work . Occasionally this may include Fridays. Arrival and departure times to be recorded in the Site Record Book or on the relevant device provided by Medair.
• Establish and maintain a good relationship with contractors and all other relevant local stakeholders (eg MOH clinic manager)
• Daily tracking of construction progress against project schedule
• On request, tracking of cost expenditure against budget.
• Monitor material deliveries, quality and storage provided by the contractor
• Pro-actively identify problems and identify solutions in conjunction with contractor. Keep written notes in Site Record Book.The Site Engineer does not have the delegation to make changes to the overall design or specification.
• Inform Medair Manager on the same day of any major issues or potential changes in project design and agree revisions in writing. Present any agreed revisions back to the contractor.
• Take photographs of relevant stages of construction as part of record keeping, email on request to Medair Damascus office.
• Provide a brief written report of the procedures of engineering tests done for material and after installation
• Provide a brief written weekly progress report to the Medair Manager.
• Undertake documented inspections at agreed stages in the project completion.
• Provide As-Built Records when the project works are finished

• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or Architect or what equivalent.
• At least 3 years of demonstrable experience in supervision of contracting works as a site engineer.
• Preferable experience in PHC rehabilitation works
• Ability to use the applications of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook …) and AutoCAD
• Excellent written and spoken Arabic, Good written and spoken English
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Good team player
• At least 3 years of demonstrable experience in supervision of contracting works as a site engineer.
• Preferable experience in PHC rehabilitation works
