UNDP is implementing special programs to identify the most influential phenomena on Syrian society, analyze these phenomena and their backgrounds and link them to the legal structure by analyzing the laws and legislation associated with these phenomena, both in terms of social and legal impact, Social justice perspective, in addition to spreading legal culture among members of society and promoting their knowledge of rights and duties
A. Scope of Work
UNDP provides legal services directly to the beneficiaries identified by the program through lawyers registered with the Bar Association of the Syrian Arab Republic, where these services include providing a legal awareness session by the lawyer with the aim of spreading and promoting the legal culture in
the target communities, in addition to providing legal advice on all Topics and legal areas of interest to the beneficiaries.
- Good knowledge and adequate knowledge of all the laws in force and applicable in Syria, especially with regard to the laws on personal status and the laws of movable and immovable property.
- The ability to communicate with beneficiaries by providing awareness sessions on legal topics specified by the program.
- Provide legal advice and help formulate legal opinions and prepare judicial files and other documents and administrative papers for the beneficiaries of programs implemented by the program, in accordance with the Procedures and methodology specified by the program.
- The ability to review and analyze the various Syrian laws that are identify by the program.
- Sufficient experience in the application and practice of mediation and arbitration systems in the resolution of disputes by alternative methods.
- Conduct legal research by utilizing different resources, selecting relevant materials to analyze legal information, assist in reviewing legal materials and any other relevant documents and identifying the most important issues that must be resolved on a priority basis.

5 years of experience in law
- Work experience in the voluntary and humanitarian field.
- Good use of computer software.
- Withstand the pressure of work.
Standards of work within the legal project:
- A part-time lawyer is obliged to have at least 10 working days per month in addition to the possibility of working outside the specified workplaces.
- The lawyer is prohibited from communicating directly with beneficiaries outside the places of service.
- The lawyer is prohibited from charging any amounts of money under any name by the beneficiaries.
- The lawyer is obliged to maintain the complete confidentiality of the information obtained by the beneficiaries and not to disclose this information to any party.
- Full compliance with the legal consultation form provided by the United Nations
Development Office.
- Compliance with all standards of work confidentiality specified by UNDP.
Target area selection standards:
Based on the importance of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, UNDP is setting several standards for selecting the communities with which it can work within the framework of the Access to Justice Project, the most important of which are:
- The extent to which these communities are affected by the Syrian crisis, which is now in its ninth year.
- Access to these areas by the UNDP team.
