Responsibilities
- Oversee all medical aspects of IMC’s health program in assigned areas
- Work closely with the Health Senior Technical Officer and clinic supervisors to achieve health program objectives and targets effectively and efficiently.
- Improve the quality of primary health care (PHC) services delivered at supported health facilities through setting of priorities for medical staff, on the job training, and continuous monitoring
- Monitor performance of health workers at the supported health facilities, and provide technical support when needed.
- Ensure diagnosis and treatment of patients is based on standard procedures (national and international guidelines)
- Actively participate in the identification and management of any epidemic.
- Build the capacity of health workers through proper coaching and on the job training
- Conduct monitoring visits to the supported health facilities, provide monitoring report that includes the findings, recommendations and action plans. Prepare and submits monthly reports on health program activities and other relevant reports to health and nutrition manager.
- Identify the supply needs of the supported health facilities and coordinate with pharmacists, and clinic supervisors for their delivery.
- Monitor the daily activities and services provided by the supported health facilities including but not limited to, patient care and referrals, Reproductive health (RH), chronical diseases.
- Assist in the design, development and management of health program activities.
- Ensure that planned activities are successfully implemented according to relevant quality standards and in close coordination with MOH and Health Cluster.
- Responsible for accuracy of health data through ensuring proper registration and documentation of health services at supported health facilities
- Responsible for health data analysis and interpretation, making suggestions and recommendations to be discussed with health program manager and health program coordinator
- Prepare weekly, monthly work plans and share with health program manager and health program coordinator
- Perform additional tasks as seen necessary by the Health Senior Technical Officer.


Qualifications
- Medical Degree mandatory, preferable Bachelor of Medicine.
- Previous experience working for an international NGO highly desirable.
- Working in PHC experience.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond appropriately to questions from program staff and varying departments.
- Strong English and Arabic skills, written and spoken.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to write reports in English.

Specific Vacancy Requirements
- CVs with no MD will not be considered .



- Adequate registration with the medical council and/or authorization to work as a doctor from the MoH, Syria.
- Ready and able to travel to IMC different locations in different governorates.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently.
- Ability to relate to and motivate local staff effectively.
- Must be able to take on medical/non-medical responsibilities from time to time to cover for other team members.
