Responsibilities
Under the guidance and supervision of the GVC Country Representative (CR) and Program
Coordinator, the Field Coordinator will be responsible for the organization and
implementation of the project activities in Deir-Ez-Zor.
In particular, she/he will be requested to:
- Be responsible in guaranteeing the good implementation and follow up and monitoring of
the activities in the field as main GVC focal point,
- Be responsible to prepare the monthly project report, budget control and 4Ws reports,
- Report daily phone and weekly by e-mail to the Program Coordinator, and copy CR, if it
is possible (up to the situation) all the updates related to the developing project activities
and the security situation in the field.
- To ensure the participation in relevant cluster and donors meetings. - Ensure the
coordination with the local authorities as well as SARC, DoE, Water Board, General
Company of Sewages in Deir-Ez-Zor.
- Translate all relevant documents from/to English and Arabic.
- Report to and discuss with Program Coordinator any technical issues which may have a
direct impact on the general implementation of the project and people need,
- Help design and revise the project work-plan, and monitor that the implementation of
the activities respects the time-table milestones and deadlines,
- Carried out the final selection of the beneficiaries by applying the defined criteria,
- Develop a good knowledge of the intervention areas, communities, socio-economic
conditions, needs constraints,
- Supervise the GVC Expert Education in the coordination and planning of all Education
activities,
- Follow up the delivery and storage of supplies,
Ensure that control is done at reception and delivery of items with the support of related
tools (reception forms, delivery notes, waybills etc…) and implement market studies in
function of project description elaboration,
- Ensure a professional relation with suppliers and Local Authorities,
- According to the rules established by the donor and due to the GVC administrative
procedures and under the supervision of the Program Coordinator do all the administrative
and finance issues and daily running payment related to the project implementations in
Deir-Ez-Zor,
- She/ he will be based in Deir-Ez-Zor, with authorized missions in Damascus and active
projects areas,
- Drafting of intermediate and final narrative reports for donors,
- Other task can be added if required by the Line Manager.

Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience is same or similar position;
- Fluency in Arabic and good level spoken English;
- High reliability, and flexibility
- Good communication and team leader skills,
- Professionalism, strong sense of responsibility and willingness to work long hours;
- Understanding of and commitment to humanitarian principles and values

Salary and Benefits
Salary will be established according to GVC salary scale.
