General Responsibilities:
Support the development of MEAL systems, including procedures, guidelines and tools at the mission level.
Support the program teams in planning and executing MEAL activities.
Monitor & review data in the programs.
Support to organizational learning through participating to specific analysis, lessons learned, and reports.
Ensure effective knowledge sharing within the program staff.
Follow-up mainstreaming of cross-cutting issues in the field with special focus on protection mainstreaming, gender, governance and child safeguarding.
Specific Responsibilities under each MEAL function:
Monitoring:
Ensure projects’ MEAL Plans are rolled-out at the field level in efficient and effective manner.
Carry out field visits, collect and manage all requested project data.
Ensure data entry as needed and carry out basic analytical tasks.
Support programs in data collection, analysis and reporting.
Support the development of Mission MEAL Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs).
Support project specific assessments (baseline, end line) and a multi-sectorial needs assessment when needed.
Support to the development of monthly, quarterly, annual and donor reports.
Evaluation:
Support internal and external project evaluations, and associated processes.
Accountability:
Contribute to project quality and accountability through field visits, providing support to program team. Also, promote appropriate tools and mechanisms to enhance quality delivery of projects.
Implement feedback, suggestions and accountability mechanisms as per specific SOPs.
Provide timely information to staff team about risks related to the projects.
Learning:
Participate to lessons learnt or action review workshops.
Support the development of learning exercises across the organization and programs
Others:
Participate in other M&E and communications initiatives as needed.
Report performed activities and achievements to line supervisor.
Perform Any additional task requested by line manager

• A Bachelor degree in Economics, Political or Social Sciences, Quantitative or Statistical Analysis or other relevant degree
• Experience in working with local or international non-governmental organizations or UN agencies in Syria
• Knowledge on humanitarian cluster/sector system
• Demonstrate ability in managing data and information from design, processing, analysis, publication and evaluation
• Demonstrated understanding of different data collection methodologies
• Intermediate skills (MS Package), knowledge of statistical software and/or qualitative data management software will be an advantage
• Experience with mobile data collection software (ODK, Kobo Collect)
• Good writing skills in English and Arabic
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to travel when needed
• Experience in working with local or international non-governmental organizations or UN agencies in Syria
