Scope/Objective
Under the overall direction of the Area manager, and the supervision of the Social Cohesion Focal Point, the technical officer will supervise the implementation of the project activity “Support community’s people's access to services through Citizen Services Centers and enhancing community security and social cohesion in Deir Ezzor “, as planned. In
addition to monitor and report regularly on the project progress in line with UNDP rules and regulations, planned targets, and time frames with providing technical support for related issues.
Functions / Key Results Expected:
The main responsibility of the Project technical officer is to ensure the successful achievement of all project activities by performing the following tasks:
- Follow up technically with the local authorities to prepare a proper design and tender documents (technical specification &relative cost).
- Provide technical support to the site technicians and other related workers and monitor their performance
- Follow up and monitor the implementation of related project to ensure results delivery within the agreed timeline.
- Ensuring that construction, cladding, and IT works are carried out according to plans, designs, and drawings, and ensuring that the quality, quantities, and proportions of all
materials are accurate.
- Ensuring that all materials used and work performed conform to the specifications in the contract document /RFQ.
- Ensuring compliance with the highest standards of worker safety at the construction site.
- Providing regular technical and financial reports and briefs to area manager and social cohesion focal point to support reporting to donors, as needed;
- Solve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise in the work process in consultation with the Social Cohesion focal point in the UNDP office.
- Document lessons learned and share experience with CO.

Recruitment Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering or architecture or other related fields
Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years practical engineering experience in similar work
- Experience in project management and contracting work
- Experience in supervising construction projects.
Language
Requirements: Arabic and good writing and reading in English
