Responsibilities
The Chief Operation Officer will be responsible for the effective management of the FMFI-S Operations, which includes Branches, Service Units, IT Department, Digital Financial Services, Business Development.
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) is responsible for the management of core business operations including lending, product development, policy and SOP development, and application of internal controls. The COO will ensure that all FMFI-S branches are competitive and that outreach and profitability performance targets are met. The COO is also responsible for ensuring that core business employees are adequately trained and operate at a high standard of technical competency. The COO also ensures that the FMFI-S branches implement responsible lending and saving practices. As a member of the management team, shares responsibility of the overall performance and activities of FMFI-S; and participates in making decisions on strategic issues in coordination with the Chief Executive Officer.

Qualifications
Successful Candidates should have:
• University Degree in Business Administration Finance or Economics; Masters is a plus.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in microfinance or other related industry. Extensive and proven track record in financial institution administration, operations and procedures.
• Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
• Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure and MS Office.
• Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
• Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
• Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
• Excellent communication, coordination, team work and team skills.
• Excellent skills in working on computers (Office programs) in addition to Good analytical and statistical skills.
• Time management skills and multitasking.
• Good knowledge in spoken and written English/ Arabic.
• Completed or exempted from military service (for males candidates).
• The ability to work pressure and prepare to travel inside/ outside Syria.
• The applicant must be a resident of the governorate that will be employed
