Responsibilities
Scope/Objective
Under the overall direction of the Area Manager, and in close coordination with the Social Cohesion Focal Point, the lawyer will work in collaboration with the Project team to support
the implementation of project’s activities “This project aims to improve the effectiveness of services provided to citizens, especially the displaced, returnees and vulnerable groups, especially women and youth, By unifying the mechanisms of providing public services and increasing their effectiveness and ensuring access for all citizens, in addition to raising the technical competencies necessary to provide services to local residents, expatriates and returnees to their cities and
villages of origin through the preparation of the citizen service point (single window) in the city of Deir Ezzor.
Functions / Key Results Expected
the lawyer will carry out the following tasks:
- Good knowledge and adequate knowledge of all the laws in force and applicable in Syria, especially about the laws on personal status and the laws of movable and immovable property.
- The ability to communicate with beneficiaries by providing awareness sessions on legal topics specified by the program.
- Provide legal advice and help formulate legal opinions and prepare judicial files and other documents and administrative papers for the beneficiaries of programs implemented by the program, in accordance with the Procedures and methodology
specified by the program.
- The ability to review and analyze the various Syrian laws that are identify by the program.
- Good experience in the application and practice of mediation and arbitration systems in the resolution of disputes by alternative methods.
- Conduct legal research by utilizing different resources, selecting relevant materials to analyze legal information, assist in reviewing legal materials and any other relevant documents and identifying the most important issues that must be resolved on a priority basis.
- Compliance with any duties assigned by the main supervisor.

Experience: - Work experience in the voluntary and humanitarian field.

Salary and Benefits
- This position is with ICI for the benefit of UNDP - Citizen Service Center project
- Candidates with more than 3 months Third Party Personnel contract validity, will not be eligible to apply for this position
- Duration and Type of Assignment: 4 Months
