Responsibilities
Scope/Objective

Deir Ezzor Governorate is one of the governorates most affected by the conflict in Syria, especially during the period of the blockade, which affected all social and economic components, including the most vulnerable families headed by women, or families who support or support a person with disabilities who do not have any skills at work or have challenges to

enter Labour market.

The project was developed based on the results of multiple evaluations which showed that disability is still one of the main challenges facing economic and social recovery in Deir Ezzor

Governorate, especially with the continued increase in the number of persons with disabilities due to the effects of the ongoing conflict, especially mines and remnants of war that still cause great losses, especially in Countryside of the province.

The idea of the project is summarized by targeting persons with disabilities and training them within the Youth Empowerment Centre by implementing a package of integrated activities to achieve the goals of the project:

- Productive workshops that contribute to creating job opportunities for people with disabilities or from families that support persons with disabilities.

- Professional training for the beneficiaries of the production workshops.



Functions / Key Results Expected

- Evaluate and interview patients to determine their needs.

- understand the specific needs of each patient.

- Take measurements or impressions of the part of a patient’s body that will be fitted with a brace or artificial limb.

- Select materials to be used for the orthotic or prosthetic device.

- Instruct patients in how to use and care for their devices.

- determine the best material and tools to use to build the prosthetic limb or medical appliance.

- Develop a planning mechanism to ensure an efficient and effective achievements of the project objectives, and the key project indicators and meeting project deadlines.

- Create schedule and project timeline.

- Manage day-to-day project implementation and overall coordination of project outcomes.

- Ensure supervision of the project personnel and ensure effective communication and coordination between the project staff and the UNDP office.

- Conducting field visits to the work sites to see the progress of the work of the project and in all its aspects.

- Ensure timely preparation and compilation of the project work plan.

- Conduct any other tasks that direct supervisor asked for, which related to the project activities.

Recruitment Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Doctorate, or relevant fields



Experience:

- Technical skill

- Experience in dealing with PWDs.

- Previous experience in related field.



Other skills:

Good MS office skills.

Good in English and Arabic (spoken and written) is required.


Salary and Benefits
- This position is with ICI for the benefit of UNDP - PWDs workshops project

- Candidates with more than 3 months Third Party Personnel contract validity, will not be eligible to apply for this position

- Duration and Type of Assignment: 4 Months
