Responsibilities
Scope/Objective

Under the overall direction of the Area Manager and in close coordination with the focal point of social cohesion, the Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of Women for Peace “Phase 1” Project, as stipulated in the programme support document, and as assigned to him/her by the his/her Supervisor.



Functions / Key Results Expected

1. Manage and coordinate project activities, from substantive, administrative and financial points of view.

2. Manage day-to-day project implementation and overall coordination of project outcomes.

3. Support formulation of Women for peace teams as project document identified criteria.

4. Support in organization of local trainings and regular meetings of the women for peace teams and any agreed ad hoc meeting as needed.

5. Increase and enhance engagement of and input from the women for peace teams through regular and quality written and oral communications.

6. Support implementation of women for peace teams’ initiatives

7. Ensure supervision of the Project personnel and ensure effective communication and coordination between the Project staff and the UNDP field office.

8. Provide direction and leadership in advocating project objectives and in ensuring that all interested parties are well informed about the project activities and goals.

9. Identify any support and advice required for the management, planning and control of the Project.

10. Ensure timely preparation and compilation of the Project Work Plans and Progress/Final substantial and financial reports and its submission to UNDP Office as appropriate.

11. Prepare reports for the UNDP field office on key project activities, issues and required action points.

12. Ensure the quality of outputs and results.

13. Guide and orient efforts and contributions of consultants, staff, and government counterparts towards achievement of project objectives.

14. Ensure accuracy and reliability of financial reports.

15. Ensure efficient HR management, conduct regular performance appraisal exercises for Project staff.

16. Represent the Project to build professional relationships with local, district and regional authorities to ensure the full participation of a broad spectrum of national leadership.

17. Ensure proper professional relationships with relevant national and international partner agencies, relevant developing programmes/projects.

18. Ensure proper professional relationships with community leaders, local NGOs, and other Community Based Organizations (as Women associations, Youth associations, etc).

19. Establish and maintain relationships and act as the key focal point with UNDP field office to ensure that all programming, financial and administrative matters related to the Project are transparently, expediently and effectively managed, in line with established UNDP Rules and Regulations.

20. Verify and channel all requests for Project, administrative, logistical, and other support and report all incidents related to security and issues of general concern to UNDP field office.

21. Manage the transfer of Project deliverables, documents, files, equipment, and materials as per the standards UNDP procedures.

22. Perform other duties that may be required by UNDP field office.

Recruitment Qualifications

Education University degree of Arts and Humanities, Education, Literature, Legal certificate, Sociology, etc



Experience Three years of related experience in Gender work and working with women activity and GBV issue knowledge.

Excellent networking and coordination skills

Experience in community-based assistance and in participatory community actions is an asset.

Previous experience in working with institutions of the civil society and local public organizations, especially with UNDP is an asset.

Computer administrative skills are a prerequisite.

Salary and Benefits
- This position is with ICI for the benefit of UNDP- TPP Women for Peace Phase 2
- Candidates with more than 3 months Third Party Personnel contract validity, will not be eligible to apply for this position
- Duration and Type of Assignment: 5 Months
