Responsibilities
Formal written translation from English to Arabic / or from Arabic to English for any requested
materials, documents, SOPs, and scientific papers
 Review translated materials from other colleagues and verify technical terminology and references
 submit translation in word processed documents; and provide high quality translation of document
 Ensure accuracy of terms and terminology used in the documents
 Ensure translation is written with style, correct grammar and spelling
 Consult with Unit colleagues when required
 Complete the work within the agreed timeline and submit the final translation in both soft and hard
copy.

Qualifications
Master’s degree in Linguistics, Economics, Social Science, Business or related areas;
 3‐5 years of professional translation experience in the relevant area
 Demonstrated good understanding of technical terms used in areas of health system, diseases, medicine,
Laboratory, chemical, environmental health and other health related terminology.
 Proven skills in translation and interpretation from and into English and vice versa
 Excellent communication skill in both English and Arabic

Specific Vacancy Requirements
Cleared invoice attached with supporting documents (correspondence reading the request of the
translation)
 Summery technical reports indicating the translated materials, documents, SOPs, and scientific
papers

Salary and Benefits
The payment will be calculate based on the number of translated pages. However, the cost of one
translated paper is eight USD, and the suppliers will received their installments in local currency based
on UN internal exchange rate.

This is a temporary contract under APW contract modality (Agreement of performance Work) 3 months contract
