Responsibilities
Context
UNDP have several agricultural projects for rural development in Aleppo to support value chain for fruit trees, regreen Syria- Regenerative Organic Agriculture also provide agriculture inputs, all these need monitoring and continuous evaluation by M E personnel
Objectives of the Assignment
ME is responsible for monitoring activities in the field through regular collection and analysis of information to track the progress of project implementation in rural Aleppo against pre-set targets and objectives and achievement of objectives to assist timely decision-making, provide the basis for evaluation and generating descriptive reports
Scope of work (Indicate if this is Time-Based Contract or Output Based)
Aleppo Rural Development- Time-Based Contract
Final product/Deliverables (For Output Based Contracts, clearly indicate milestones and percentage of total lump sum that will be paid for completion of each milestone)
- Collect information about the project activities
- Monitor all project activities in rural Aleppo, expenditures and progress towards achieving the project output;
- Identify significant deviations from plans
- Assist in corrective decision-making
- Monitor implementation of corrective actions
- Suggest for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the project by identifying bottlenecks in completing project activities
- Provide feedback to the Project Manager and UNDP office on activities
- Provide inputs, information and statistics for monthly progress and final reports to UNDP office
- Provide monitoring and evaluation information to the ME manager and area manager as required to improve the quality of projects and ensure lessons from evaluations
- Perform other duties as required

Recruitment Qualifications
Education:
University Degree preferably in Agriculture engineering,
Experience:
Has experience in ME, preferably experience and knowledge of UNDP
work in agriculture and rural development
Language Requirements:
Proficiency in Arabic, working knowledge of English is an asset

Salary and Benefits
- This position is with ICI for the benefit of UNDP All Aleppo Rural Development Projects.
- Candidates with more than 3 months Third Party Personnel contract validity, will not be eligible to apply for this position
- Duration and Type of Assignment: 11 months
