Responsibilities
MHPSS COORDINATOR:
- Ensure that all MHPSS staff in their organization are familiar with documents and guidelines relevant to MHPSS.
- Initiate and lead MHPSS mainstreaming into other sections on the level of the organization.
- Provide staff with the opportunity to discuss their work and receive constructive feedback
- Coordinate with UNHCR to highlighted training needs and provide further training to enhance the knowledge and skills of MHPSS staff.
- Provide direction and technical support for MHPSS reviewing officers/ case managers in coordination with UNHCR.
- Assist in selecting MHPSS team: MHPSS case managers, PSS activity facilitators, PSS outreach volunteers, HBR focal points, and HBT volunteers…
- Assess the needs and lead the planning of MHPSS programs and provide inputs for project proposals/ agreements with UNHCR.
- Compile data collection tools and share with UNHCR on monthly bases (or on ad-hoc bases as needed). Analyze trends, challenges, gaps and impact, and reflect those finding in programming to improve MHPSS programs.
- Contribute to reporting tools (dashboard, quarterly, mid and end of year), provide figures for MHPSS activities and provide inputs on achievements and challenges.
- Represent the organization in MHPSS field and participate in relevant coordination meetings as required.

MHPSS REVIEWING OFFICER:
Technical supervision and management:
- Conduct weekly one to one supervision meetings with each case manager, providing technical advice on cases and psychosocial support to case managers. Facilitate peer-to-peer support groups where appropriate.
- Support individual cases where required and provide regular monitoring of all aspects of case management services.
- Monitor timescales for response, decision-making, placement, follow-up and review, attend case conferences along with case manager for complex cases.
- Schedule and supervise case management meetings at least once every 2 weeks with all case managers (discussing general challenges and standards, work plans, implementation and achievements). Share agreed action points with the case managers.
- Review staff caseloads to ensure they are manageable and share challenges with coordinator (max 20 open cases per case manager)
- Conduct regular case file audit and check that protocols and principles are respected. Follow up on the results of client’s feedback surveys and ensure action are taken to improve quality of services.
- Monitor and manage staff stress
- Prepare a plan for emergency cases such as suicidal cases to ensure the appropriate response in the appropriate time
- Decide on distribution of cases for follow up, support complex cases that need referrals between services or that have difficulties accessing appropriate services.
- Alert and report to the MHPSS coordinator at the central level whenever there are complex cases which require extra/additional measures
CAPACITY BUILDING/ TECHNICAL GUIDANCE:
- Ensure that all MHPSS staff in their organization are familiar with relevant guiding documents, monitor the use of case management tools by case managers and provide feedback on improvements needed.
- Carry out MHPSS mainstreaming into different sectors within your area of responsibility; conduct orientation sessions for non-MHPSS staff/volunteers and ensure that helpers/ service providers are able to put knowledge and skills from training into practice.
- Transfer knowledge and conduct trainings based on training needs assessments and team needs for MHPSS staff; create an opportunity for on job learning and professional growth and ensure that MHPSS staff are able to put knowledge and skills from training into practice.
- Provide an ongoing opportunity for staff to reflect on their personal values, beliefs and behaviors and how this impact their work with beneficiaries.
COORDINATION AND REPORTING
- Review and analyze trends in the caseload and reflect back to the MHPSS coordinator for programming purposes.
- Review monthly work plans with MHPSS coordinator and UNHCR office.
- Consolidate MHPSS case management data collection tools, verify and ensure data was correctly entered and share with MHPSS coordinator.
- Provide inputs for narrative reporting covering the area of responsibility as necessary/ requested.
- Communicate training needs to the MHPSS coordinator and support in planning capacity building activities to enhance the knowledge and skills of MHPSS staff.
- Coordinate with UNHCR in the field as relevant (if the partner’s coordinator is in a different location and is overseeing multiple governorates); and participate in relevant coordination meetings as required.
- Perform any other related duties as required.

Qualifications
- MHPSS coordinator at partner level should have related educational background (psychology, psychological counselling), master’s degree is preferable with 4 years’ experience at least in this field
- MHPSS reviewing officer should have related educational background (psychology, psychological counseling), with 3 years’ experience at least in this field
- Previous experience in humanitarian organizations
- Proficiency in English and Arabic
- Demonstrated reporting skills
- Relevant computer skills
- Database design and use capacity
