Responsibilities
Proposal Development:
• Support the timely development of high-quality concept notes and proposals (edit, review and draft sections) for AKF and AKDN agencies in collaboration with programs, Monitoring Evaluation Research and Learning (MERL), gender equality, Finance and Operations teams, as well as AKF donor units (as relevant)
• Ensure that concepts and proposals align with AKF/AKDN country and global priorities, donor requirements, and UNOCHA Syria Humanitarian Response Plan
• Ensure that concepts and proposals are developed and reviewed in line with internal and AKF global requirements i.e., go-no-go, sanctions clearance, project justification processes etc.
• Facilitate the review and negotiation of grant agreements for successful awards in line with AKF country and global requirements
• Ensure a timely handover of successful awards to grant focal points, which includes participating in project inception workshops

Partnership Engagement:
• Identify new partnership opportunities in line with AKF/AKDN country and global priorities
• Participate in donor meetings as requested by the PSP Manager
• Support AKF and AKDN program and MERL teams to contribute inputs and share knowledge in national and sub-national platforms (UN Clusters, DINGO, Cash Working Group etc.)
• Enhance AKF’s understanding of UN partnership and grant compliance requirements
• Work with AKF and AKDN program teams to identify local implementing partners and undertake partner risk assessments in line with AKF and donor requirements





Internal Systems & Coordination:
• Support the PSP Manager to improve and maintain an up-to-date pipeline matrix
• Liaise with focal points from AKF’s Global Partnerships Team to regularly update AKF’s global award system for new opportunities
• Participate in AKF Global Partnerships meetings and pipeline calls as requested by the PSP Manager
• Support the PSP Manager to develop a resource mobilization strategy and proposal development process for AKF and AKDN agencies
• Support the PSP Manager to develop a partnerships brief and update the partnerships slide deck in collaboration with AKDN agencies


Qualifications
• The applicant must have a university degree in Social Science, Business Administration or a related filed
• At least three years of experience working with international organizations in a partnerships or project coordination function
• Demonstrated experience in writing concept notes/ proposals for UN and international donors.
• Good analytical, communications, facilitation and presentation skills
• Strong sense of personal initiative, problem solving, coordination, creativity and innovation skills.
• Strong networking skills
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Good team work skills and ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues
• Sensitive to religious, cultural and gender issues in the Syrian context.
• Excellent command of English (Spoken and written).
• Ability to move and travel throughout Syria.
• Male applicant should have finished their military service, exempted or postponed for one year at least.
