Responsibilities
1. Provide grant management support to the Country Representative and staff of Syria in order to produce high quality program proposals, project concept notes and reports in a timely manner.
2. Coordinate the preparation and timely submission of grant applications, amendments, no-cost extensions and related budgets with budget notes to headquarters (HQ).
3. Support the development of proposals based on clear and thorough understanding of donor’s requirements, including information related to project type activity, objectives/ outcomes, deliverables, implementation methods, timetable, staffing, budgets, standards of performance and evaluation.
4. With the country program team(s) and HQ, coordinate a timetable that establishes priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing and review of proposals at the field level; further coordinate with HQ on completing the review process for final approval and submission of proposals at the proposed deadlines.
5. Coordinate required inputs from contributors and report on the proposal status to individuals involved in the review process.
6. Monitor, provide input, review and consolidate grant data as a management tool for grants coordination.
7. Coordinate closely with the program staff in Syria on grants and/or related budget analysis and provide technical assistance as needed.
8. Manage the compilation of information and data required for the preparation of donor reports based on donor reporting requirements and submission due dates.
9. Prepare reports for donors, using required templates and formats, to report on progress against stated activity milestones, project outcomes, project budget and lessons learned, etc.
10. Include in donor reports documentary evidence of project outcomes, challenges and lessons learned in accordance with the donor’s requirements and support from the MEAL process.
11. Review and comment on evaluation and program monitoring reports and program audits.
12. Perform other duties as required.


Qualifications
A university degree - or equivalent - in Social Sciences, Business Administration, Law, Economics or International Development or other relevant field.

• At least 4 years of demonstrable experience working in Fundraising, as well as Humanitarian and Development sectors in the Middle East in general, and in Syria or Lebanon in particular, or similar experience with international entities.

• Excellent English written skills with proven ability to develop and present proposals and donor reports, for both internal and external audiences.

• Solid experience in the Syria context

• Demonstrable experience and success in engaging with bilateral and multilateral donors for an international agency; demonstrated ability to devise and implement resource mobilization strategies; and proven ability to identify new business opportunities and partnerships.

• Experience with key institutional donors’ guidelines and procedures.

• Excellent organizational, planning, management and coordination skills, with the competence to organize a workload comprised of varying and changing priorities, tasks and responsibilities

• High level of analytical skills, problem solving and critical thinking with the ability to research, analyze, and report.

• Knowledge of Project Cycle Management with previous field experience.

• Experience in capacity building; coaching and delivering training at an individual and group level is preferable.
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication and relationship skills with ability to influence external organizations, local partners and individuals and ability to work effectively with others in diverse team situations to achieve fundraising targets.

• Self-motivated, target-driven and a proactive approach to funding.

• Ability to manage his/her time effectively.

• Ability to work within a multicultural, multilingual and multidisciplinary environment, cultural awareness, and to work effectively with others in a team across institutional boundaries and business units.

• Computer literate (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Arabic language is desirable.
