Responsibilities
Tasks:
Project Management: Provide technical program support to the project staff.
- Supervise and monitor the project activities on a regular basis in order to achieve the results and targets, and report to the Project Managers and Head of Programmes;
- Support the Project Manager in monitoring the project expenditures versus budget set in the projects’ proposals;
- Supervise and coordinates field staff to prepare project implementation documents, reports, budget monitoring;
- Review documents related to project implementation prepared by the field staff and send them the Project Manager;
- Review the monthly project report prepared by the field staff, as well as support the preparation of interim and final project reports;
- Participate in staff training and capacity building.
Human Resources
- Participate in staff recruitment (short list and interviews).
Coordination and Representation
- Participate in sectors meetings at local level, prepare reports and disseminate information to all relevant staff;
- Schedules appointments and meetings for internal and external events;
- Participate in meetings, interviews, workshops, conferences with partners and stakeholders, and prepare reports;
- Manage internal databases and document filing.
Other
- Other relevant tasks, if required.

Qualifications
Required
- At least 2 years of experience working in settings with high social complexity;
- Previous project management experience;
- Knowledge of PCM and humanitarian aid principles;
- Fluent in Arabic and English;
Desirable
- Knowledge of the local context in Deir-Ez-Zor and Aleppo;
- Familiar with UN agencies and sectors.
- At least 2 years of experience working in settings with high social complexity;
- Previous project management experience;

At the end of 2013 GVC obtained the authorization from the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to work in humanitarian aid in the crisis.
