Responsibilities
Background:
Disability inclusion unit at UNDP Syria country office has a comprehensive programme that can divided into 4 pillars:
1. Physical and mental wellbeing
2. socioeconomic integration
3. social norms and legislative frameworks
4. capacity development

One area for major enhancement is Physical Therapy under pillar one. It is also stated as one of the top priorities for enhancing disability inclusion in Syria as reported by the national assessment. UNDP approach in this regard will focus on providing Physical Therapy to PWDs ongoing projects and motivate them to properly integrate into their community environment.
To achieve these goals, the unit requests the support of a Specialist physical therapist through the provision of the services.

Functions / Key Results Expected:
Under the overall direction of the Economic Development and Livelihood team leader and Disability Inclusion Unit project manager, and the supervision of the assigned project manager the Prosthetic technician is expected to conduct the technical and managerial work:

Technical work:

-Receiving patients with amputations and assessing their situation.
-Correctly take measurements of the amputation.
-Accurately manufacture the prosthetic in all its stages.
-Rehabilitation and training of the patient to use the prosthesis.
-Doing any maintenance required for the prosthetic, if needed.
-Follow-up the periodic maintenance of the devices for the manufacture of prosthetics.
-Maintaining cleanliness and arrangement of medical equipment and tools in the workshop.
-Documenting all required information about the patient, his situation and the services provided to him on paper records at the specified time.
-Perform any other related tasks assigned to him.
-Coordinate with the physiotherapy team.
-Attend meetings.



Qualifications
1.Competencies

-Experience in the field of manufacturing and installing prosthetics.
-Good communication skills.
-The ability to withstand work pressure and work within a team.

2.Qualifications
V. Recruitment Qualifications

Education:
At least High School degree.
Experience:
3 years of practical experience working in the installation of prosthetic and dealing with amputees.
Language Requirements:
-Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages,
-Fluent in Arabic and good writing, reading, and speaking skills in English.





Salary and Benefits
-This position is with ICI for the benefit of UNDP Physical Therapy - Hassakeh
-Candidates with more than 3 months Third Party Personnel contract validity, will not be eligible to apply for this position

-Duration and Type of Assignment: 9 Months
