Responsibilities
II. Context
The crisis in Syria has entered its tenth year with little prospects for an imminent end to violence that is faced on daily
basis and impact the lives and exacerbate the vulnerability of children, women, the elderly, and the disabled.
In addition, the widespread displacement and deterioration of life conditions have negatively influenced the social and economic fabric of Syria
Under the overall direction of the Southern Area Manager and the supervision of UNDP Technical Officer in coordination with Rehabilitation of Infrastructures manager, the Technical Officer is responsible for following up on the implementation of project activities in Quneitra Governorate and Rural Damascus, as stipulated in the project document, and as assigned to him/her by UNDP Technical Officer.
The project seeks to rehabilitate Al Jolan physiotherapy center for PWD in Khan Arnabeh – Qunaitra governorate.

III. Objectives of the Assignment
-Provide technical support/assistance to local authorities, communities, and programmer staff on issues related to public works, rehabilitation and restoration of basic and social infrastructure assets in the location of the project.
-Actively participate in liaising with local authorities, non-governmental organizations, community groups, cooperatives and other civil society organizations as well as local government organizations, in the area of the assigned project by the supervisor.
-Analyse the situation of supported and targeted community groups, and assist in the project formulation in line with the objectives of the UNDP mandate and program
-Actively initiate discussions with local government bodies and local communities to ensure their participation in the selection, formulation, prioritization and implementation of the project
-Monitor and Supervise the daily implementation of the planned
-Provide regular progress reporting on the assigned project
-Document lessons learned and share experience with CO.

VII. Recruitment Qualifications
Education & Experience:
A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or 4 years of relevant professional experience, preferably experience in Persons with Disability specialization.
Language Requirements:
Excellent command of Arabic and English
Note: Applicants must be citizens of Qunaitra Governorate



Salary and Benefits
-This position is with ICI for the benefit of UNDP Rehabilitation of Aljolan physiotherapy Centre in Quneitra - Quneitra
-Candidates with more than 3 months Third Party Personnel contract validity, will not be eligible to apply for this position

-Duration and Type of Assignment: 5 months
