Responsibilities
The rehabilitation specialist will provide rehabilitation strategies and techniques for children with developmental disabilities and delays and their parents..

- Conduct interviews with children and their parents in order to establish individual behavioral and educational strategies.
- Create and implement strategies and techniques that meet the various needs of children with a variety of handicapping conditions.
- Consult with the program supervisor to discuss the progress of the children.
- Consult with parents to discuss their children's progress and to assess their children's priorities and resource requirements.
- Conduct individual sessions for challenging situations that require extensive additional care on an individual level.
- Submit all required reports to the program's supervisor.
- Evaluate the performance, behavior, social development, and physical health of children.
- Consult with parents to guide them in utilizing community resources and to teach them skills for dealing with their children's disabilities.
- Train parents and volunteers on-the-job.
- Conduct necessary theoretical training sessions for parents/caretakers.
- Provide technical support and instruction to volunteers in the class on a daily basis.
- Consult with other members of staff to plan and schedule lessons that promote learning while adhering to the authorized curriculum.

- Maintains the highest level of integrity in all aspects of his or her work.
- Communicates these principles to employees and stakeholders and requires them to uphold them.
- Collaborate closely with SARC
- Become familiar with and adhere to all IMC policies


Qualifications
- Degree in special education
- Experience of 2 years in the same field.
- Knowledge and experience in disabilities, conducting assessments and developing individual plans
