Responsibilities
1. Maintains a Secure Environment for the center
a) Monitors the entry and exit of all persons and vehicles, maintaining appropriate records. Ensures that undesirable persons are not admitted to the Center.
b) Prevents the unauthorized removal from the premises of SOS vehicles, equipment or other property.
c) Conducts regular patrols of the premises at night ensuring that all areas of the center are secure. Alerts the center manager of any problems, and requests back-up if necessary.
d) Investigates irregular occurrences and reports them to the center manager at the earliest opportunity.
e) Ensures that all outside lights are working at night and promptly reports exceptions to the Administrator.

2. Presents a Good Public Image
a) Receives all visitors in a friendly, polite and professional manner. Refers them to the appropriate person or office.
b) Ensures all regulations regarding visitors and visiting hours are complied with.
c) Cleans the garden, lawns, paving and parking areas in the vicinity of the security gate, and removes any leaves or litter.

3. Acts as a Contributing Member of the center Community
a) Offers support to other staff members whenever possible, provided this does not interfere with other responsibilities. Takes an active part in center events and activities.
b) Presents a caring and understanding figure to the children, and conducts himself in an exemplary manner.

4. General
a) Carries out all duties in an exemplary manner and provides a good role model for the children.
b) Performs any other reasonable duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.




Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years work experience as a security guard
- School degree or other relevant education
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to communicate with a wide variety of clients in a professional manner, displaying tact and diplomacy when needed.
- Ability to ensure the security and safety of a site and its clients
- Ability to control situations involving difficult and stressful incidents
- Basic understanding of first aid treatments.
- Good computer skills
