Responsibilities
III. Objectives of the Assignment

-With the aim of raising the positive contribution to unpaid work that is usually ignored, such as home care work that supports the economy, respects women's self-ability to work and act, and aims to give women more options and provide more equitable work environments.
-The capacity building program also seeks to enhance the human, social and financial resources of individuals to provide a basis for economic empowerment opportunities with the aim of enhancing and activating the self-capacity of women and men to act with the aim of emphasizing active interaction with the world around them, acting and choosing and contributing to achieving the well-being of individuals, families and communities, and raising the capabilities of Women and girls planning small projects and economic feasibility studies Designing and managing projects for women who want to create / own their own projects, and following up on them during the implementation period of these projects
IV. Scope of work (Indicate if this is Time-Based Contract or Output Based)
An Economic Empowerment Specialist will be appointed, through a third-party contract, to support the implementation of UNDP activities on social cohesion and local development/gender in this area. The specialist will directly engage with the beneficiaries to support their well-being,
The Economic Empowerment Specialist will be under the direct supervision of the Gender Team Leader and will receive regular guidance from the Gender Officer to achieve the following specific objectives:
Receiving cases assigned by mobile team members and other active partners and providing required case support in a timely and high-quality contract.

-Organizing meeting with the local community to identify areas and economic sectors that can be invested in as small projects
-Training business support groups on a training program that includes (entrepreneurship - economic feasibility study - strategic planning - management of small and medium enterprises - field study of projects and members)
-Designing training materials with the area of promoting gender justice, advancement of women and towards empowerment, taking into consideration the following points:
-Defining the concept of economic literacy and its importance
-Define the concept of management and leadership, negotiation and networking, reviewing practical examples of leadership in solving problems, the concept of time management, decision-making and innovation skills in order to reach economic empowerment
-Providing advice to the beneficiaries of this axis in the following areas: (Economic literacy - self-marketing, in addition to encouraging women and men in economic participation, and what are the solutions and proposals.
-In addition to understanding the needs of each societal group to contribute to achieving a fair distribution of the available financial resources according to the needs, expectations and aspirations of each societal group.
-Prioritizing spending, redesigning and directing personal programs and plans
-Optimally invest the available financial resources, with professional communication and advocacy strategies
-Optimally invest the available financial resources, with professional communication and advocacy strategies
-Providing individual and group advice to women and girls within economic support groups with the aim of improving the economic situation (principles of financial planning, planning a personal financial budget, emergency fund, savings, investment, financial services available in the local market, borrowing, insurance and retirement...) in addition to social marketing.
-Develop weekly and monthly training plans for beneficiaries
-Providing all marketing services and helping to link the projects’ products to different markets
-Conducting field visits to evaluate and follow up projects and provide direction and guidance.
-Track behavioral change using the most critical method methodology
-Provide regular reports on the sessions conducted and development that includes a comprehensive analysis of the context of the training process, challenges encountered, proposals and lessons learned for its development
-Ensure that all activities are implemented in a timely manner and in accordance with UNDP rules and regulations
-Supporting the intended beneficiaries in designing and implementing local initiatives that promote gender equity and social cohesion
-Work as a mobile team in remote Neighborhood


Qualifications
VII. Recruitment Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Commerce and Economics
Experience: three years of trainings experience
Experience in business literacy and home economics
Previous experience in working with same field.
Language Requirements: Good in English and Arabic (spoken and written) is required.
Other skills: Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages




Salary and Benefits
-This position is with ICI for the benefit of UNDP Women's Business Incubator (Banafsag)– Deir Ezzour
-Candidates with more than 3 months Third Party Personnel contract validity, will not be eligible to apply for this position

-Duration and Type of Assignment: 5 months
