Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the line manager/supervisor, the caseworker will work closely with technical staff and focal points to ensure the proper implementation of the protection activities in the targeted location.
The caseworker will be part of the mobile unit and will be responsible of the following:
-Identify and receive Persons of Concern (PoC).
-Conduct an assessment to identify PSS needs (through individual counseling).
- Coordinate with local partner's caseworker and volunteers to receive cases and implement case management.
-Develop an action / care plan jointly with the POCs and their primary network and coordinate with other focal points and service providers in the community center to ensure multi-sectorial and comprehensive plans.
-Refer cases to specific services (internal and external) to meet their needs according to the jointly developed care plan.
-Follow up on the referrals to other services through direct contract with service providers and /or through the PoC (if appropriate for the context)
-Provide appropriate PSS initial and therapeutic counseling for individuals at level of focused non-specialized intervention according to IASC MHPSS pyramid of intervention
- Conduct mapping of service, in cooperation with the PSS ORVs in the catchment area to ensure efficient referrals and update the map periodically
- Follow up on the implementation of the care plan until the cases are closed
- Evaluate the outcomes of the care plan and amend it accordingly
- Work closely and coordinate with PSS outreach volunteers and PSS activity facilitator for follow up and additional intervention
- Update the case management database complying with the standard of information management. Ensure updated documentation of the cases using appropriate forms (soft/hard) as per the SOPs
- Ensure strict confidentiality and privacy of the POC including record keeping
- Prepare and submit reports in a timely manner and as requested
- Assist in psycho – education for groups and individuals and their family members when additional support is needed
-Alert and report the PSS coordinator whenever there are complex cases which cannot be addressed in an effective manner
- Conduct outreach and home visits and documented (when needed and appropriate for the context)
-Ensure close collaboration and substantial coordination with CP caseworkers for cases of children in needs of PSS in all steps of the case management cycle (identification, development of care plan, follow up and closure)
- Participate in relevant trainings and attend meeting as required.
- Perform any other related duties as required

Qualifications
- University degree in a related field e.g. Social Work, Psychology or equivalent is an asset.
- Minimum 2 years relevant professional experience in the protection sector.
- Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet).
- Respect and non-discriminatory attitude, empathy.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Reporting skills.
- Capacity to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of English and Arabic.
- Previous experience in working with a local partner is considered an asset.
