Responsibilities
•The Child Protection Assistant will be working under the direct supervision of the protection officer. He/she will be responsible for following up on matters related to the Protection projects and programmes.
The Child Protection Assistant will perform the following tasks:
• Supervise the work of the Child Protection activity facilitator and the volunteers conducting awareness session (CP).
• Report on the progress of the work-plan on a daily/weekly/monthly basis ( collect data...etc).
• Coordinate and build relationship with school principals, local authorities , teachers and admin staff to conduct CP activities.
• Ensure activities, results, challenges and lessons learned are accurately documented in a timely manner to the protection officer based in Damascus.
• Assist in the development of systematic and realistic implementation plans to reach the targets.
• Develop and maintain effective information database on projects’ activities, providing resource and necessary support for program inputs and outputs to protection officer in Damascus
• Monitor completed projects to verify that they deliver the expected services fully to the community for the expected period of time
• Submit reports on field visits and the collected data to the Protection officer on regular basis.
• Build links between community based initiatives and referral pathways to allow a more efficient access to services.
• Perform other duties as required.
( minimum hours of attendance at the office should be achieved )

- Required office hours are agreed upon with specific visits and specific hours per week
This is not a restrictive list of duties; relevant task can be added upon request by the line manager



Qualifications
• At least 2 years of child protection experience .
• Bachelor’s degree in social studies/ management/political science/ law or related field.
• Ability to follow up on a range of projects and tasks/ multi tasking
• Good level in written and spoken English.
• Very good computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Power-point.
